I have 23 years experience as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I started my social work career as the Assistance Director of the Student Mental Health Service at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS). I helped medical students and pharmacy students with a wide variety of mental health issues. I became well experienced in treating General and Test Anxiety, Depressive Disorders, Stress Management, Adjustment Issues and Loss. I left UAMS in 2005 to pursue my dream of opening my own private practice.
In my private practice I have a passion for working with adults who have grown up with adversity (trauma, neglect, poverty, addiction, abuse and emotionally immature parents). In 2004, I completed advanced training in relationship therapy with John and Julie Gottman at the Gottman Institute in Seattle, Washington.
I completed a Bachelors Degree in Psychology in 1998 and a Masters Degree in Social Work in 2000. I am a Arkansas Board Certified Clinical Social Worker.
I am currently a Governor appointed board member on the Arkansas Social Work Licensing Board where I have served as Secretary and Vice Chairperson. I am currently appointed to the Bylaws committee for the National Social Work Board.
